This one is the first of a series of tracks that together will form an album. I started out with Shift because it is very dear to me.

Shift is a reminder for me to celebrate life because life is short. When I started making the song I just lost several people that were very close to me. I had a lot of trouble dealing with this.

I wanted to change my perception towards this unavoidable process, because I realised that this was a part of life and that the only thing I could control about these situations was my perception and reaction to it.

While making this song I decided that instead of mourning the loss of life, I would celebrate life also in these moments, and to make sure that I would remember the lost friends not in a negative way by mourning that they were gone but instead to celebrate their existence and remember all the good times we spent together.

For me, this was a shift.
