This song is the second of a series of tracks that together will form an album. Nimbara was made in the same period of time as Shift.

Nimbara was made after I travelled to The Gambia during the Ebola pandemic. Ebola was nowhere near The Gambia, and at that particular moment there was only one active case of Ebola, and it was a distance away from The Gambia the size of Europe. But because of the fear of Ebola, almost no tourists travelled to The Gambia. This was a weird experience.

In this country we travelled around with a guide, Ibrahima, who showed us all kinds of interesting places.

We ran into a father and a young boy who built their own xylophones and were playing them side by side, and they greeted us in a friendly way when we passed by. "Nimbara, abenjadi! A baraka! A baraka! Nimbara!"

("How's it going? It's going good! Thanks! Thanks! How's it going with you?)
